Laverne Cox Bares All in Allure’s ‘Nudes’ Issue

Laverne Cox is baring it all in this month’s Allure, despite having turned down the publication’s request two times before. The 30-year-old Orange Is the New Black actress was hesitant to pose nude at first, but ultimately decided that she could empower others by becoming the first transgender black woman to do so for the magazine. Laverne states in her interview, “I said no initially, thought about it, and said no again. But I’m a black transgender woman. I felt this could be really powerful for the communities that I represent.”

Laverne will be joined by other powerful actresses including Katheryn Winnick, Nicole Beharie, and Jordana Brewster, but there’s no doubt that the Orange Is the New Black star steals the show. Allure magazine’s Nudes issue will go on sale nationwide on April 28.
